While getting a mortgage prequalification is a good idea for general real estate, a mortgage conditional commitment letter is required by HUD prior to us submitting a bid on your behalf. Make sure your loan officer knows you are considering a HUD foreclosure as mortgages on HUD properties are very different from other mortgages.
